Frequently Asked Questions

What is Lazer Blaze?

Lazer Blaze is a purpose-built laser tag arena. Each player is given an electronic vest that registers "tags" from a players "phasor". Players are assigned to a team and deployed into the arena after receiving a full briefing. The objective is to score as many points as possible for them and their team. Generally it is a team game so the team with the most points at the end of the game is declared the winner. However we can play a variety of game formats. Points are scored by "tagging" and de-activating the opposing team and for destroying the opposing teams generators (bases).  During the game the scores are shown live on the scoreboard in the foyer, which is also shown at the completion of the game.   Each player also receives a printed score card that tells them the vital statistics for your game. This includes game score, accuracy, how many times you were tagged, and much more.

Lazer Blaze specializes in Birthday Parties, Youth Groups, Business Challenges, Corporate Team Building, Social Clubs, School Groups, Sporting Clubs, Families or just a group of friends. With up to 40 people in the arena we can cater for any size group, and we promise to give you an exciting and adrenalin pumping experience you'll never forget.

Safety Guide

Lazer Blaze maintains a high level of safety, through our rules and regulations.

The Lazer Blaze laser tag game is a physical activity played in a dimly lit multi-level arena; which contains mazes, ramps, stairs, obstacles, strobe lights, fog, loud music, and other players.

There are certain risks associated with playing Lazer Blaze as with any physical activity. You are playing the game at your own risk. If you do not understand the risks please see a crew member immediately.

Anyone with one or more of the following conditions must notify a member of the crew prior to playing the game:

  • Seizure disorder such as epilepsy
  • Heart condition or similar conditions relating to the ability to participate in cardiovascular exercise
  • Asthma or other respiratory disorders
  • Pregnancy
  • Other medical conditions that might affect your ability to play the game

All guests judge themselves fit and properly attired to play. All guests assume full responsibility for their actions at all times, and for any injuries or property damage, which may occur to or be caused by them.

All guests agree to follow all rules and instructions either posted or given by a member of the Lazer Blaze crew.

We reserve the right to refuse or terminate game play at any time.

Who can play at Lazer Blaze?

Anybody who judges themselves fit and capable of playing are able to play as long as they are aged 7 or above.  Lazer Blaze is fun for children, teenagers and adults.

Dress Code

Lazer Blaze is a physical activity as such appropriate dress must be worn.

  • T-Shirt or equivalent must be worn
  • Joggers or sneakers (No other footwear permitted)
  • We recommend sneakers with good grip
  • Head gear restricting vision such as masks are not permitted
  • Pants/Shorts comfortable to move around in must be worn

Whenever you play laser tag you should definitely wear joggers/sneakers.  As part of our insurance policy all our players MUST be wearing joggers/sneakers, no other footwear is acceptable.  Obviously you also need to be wearing clothes. We suggest loose clothing, suitable for moving around easily in.  White and other light colours can glow under our blacklights, so you can make the choice to either be chicken and wear dark colours or stand out of the crowd and wear something lighter.

Management reserves the right to refuse entry to the arena if a persons dress is not suitable. Please come suitably dressed to avoid disappointment. If in doubt please contact us for more information.

Laser Safety

The Lazer Blaze "phasor" contains a built in laser pointer. This pointer activates for less than a second only when the trigger is pulled and is only used for targeting and decoration. These lasers are safe for children to use.

The lasers are classified under the American ANSI standard as Class IIa. Class IIa lasers are special purpose lasers that emit accessible visible laser light with power levels less than 1 mW radiant power. This class of laser will only cause injury when viewed directly for more than 1,000 seconds (Roughly 16 minutes).

The human eye blink reflex, which occurs within 0.25 seconds of exposure to the laser beam, provides adequate protection. As the lasers are not continuous it is very difficult to view the laser directly for long enough for damage to occur.

Other examples of Class IIa lasers are some bar code readers and other similar equipment.

For more information on laser pointers read the World Health Organisations Laser Fact Sheet.

Is the Arena Dark?

The Lazer Blaze arena is kind of dark, but you can still easily see where you are going.  There is not much “white” light, the arena is full of coloured lights & black lights so it just looks different to most places you would go.  It’s kind of like a disco with funky lights and music so it’s not scary for most people.

I have a disability.  Can I still play?

We hope so!  We don’t like anybody missing out on the fun of Lazer Blaze.  Depending on your restrictions there may be some extra instructions you may need, so best to speak to a Crew Member before coming down.

Both our stores have disable access into the building.  They also both have disabled toilets available for use.  The actual Laser Tag Arenas have multiple ramps inside them and none of them are wheelchair friendly and should not be used if you are in a wheel chair.  This does mean that some Team Generators (Bases) are not going to be accessible but this won’t hinder your game.  We suggest going on a team colour who’s Generator you can access so you can help your team defend their Generator and there’ll still be others you can also destroy.

If you are in a wheelchair, you may wish to have a carer attend who isn’t playing to actually go in and assist you around the arena so you can spend more time just enjoying the game.

It’s our hope that most people can still participate, so don’t be afraid to discuss your needs/restrictions with us so we can help as best we can.

At our Willetton store we suggest trying to find a parking spot in the upper car park so that access is easy for you and you can avoid the very slow elevator that goes between the lower and upper level, but as there is an elevator, you can still park downstairs it’s just a little bit further to walk and then a very slow elevator ride up.

Will I be recorded in the Lazer Blaze Premises?

You may be filmed, photographed or audibly recorded on these premise and these recordings may be used at the sole discretion of Lazer Blaze, including being publicly displayed.

Should your image be used publicly and you would like it removed, please email us at:
customercare@lazerblaze.com.au and we will try to assist where possible.

How do I make a booking?

The best way to make a booking is to call the store directly during the normal trading hours.  (Malaga: 9248-2152 / Port Kennedy: 9254-5505 / Willetton: 9332-2250)

Our stores don’t open until 2pm Mon-Thurs, 12pm Fridays and 10am on Weekends and Holidays so please try and call after those times.

If you get our answering machine please do leave a message and we’ll return your call as soon as we can.  Be sure to speak loudly and clearly to the machine so we can hear your phone number clearly. You can also use our booking form.

For larger bookings you may be required to pay a deposit.  This can be done by credit card on the phone, so have it ready if you think you might need to pay a deposit.

Do we get the Laser Tag Arena to ourselves?

You can have the Laser Tag arena to yourselves, but you’ll need to book a Lock-out booking to do this.

General games are filled up with many groups.  The more people playing the more fun the game is and it’s been done for years.  Should we have groups of  hugely different ages, we will mix groups together on teams to keep the ability of the teams as even as possible.

So if you’d like the arena to yourselves please book a Lockout booking.
